AQUASTUDIO PRO // DEVELOPMENT ROADMAP

THE ROAD
AHEAD.

AquaStudio is actively evolving. The roadmap reflects the current development direction rather than fixed release promises.

The priority is to finish the Linux version, establish a reliable beta and then expand the platform step by step.

CURRENT STATE

THE CORE PLATFORM IS IN PLACE.

AquaStudio already combines the main building blocks required for controller management, firmware deployment and embedded operation.

CURRENTLY BUILT

CORE PLATFORM

The current development version includes the native Linux desktop application, controller profiles, hardware analysis, firmware deployment and the embedded AquaStudio runtime.

The QuinLED Penta Mini with ESP32-C3 is currently the main reference controller.

CURRENTLY BUILT

LIGHTING CONTROL

The current platform includes five-channel PWM control, live PWM operation and a timeline-based lighting system.

The controller runtime communicates with the desktop environment over the network.

HARDWARE

HARDWARE ANALYZER

The hardware analyzer is already part of the development workflow and is used to inspect real controller hardware and generate hardware analysis information.

DEPLOYMENT

HARDWARE INSTALLER

The installer workflow already connects hardware detection, firmware selection, flashing and AquaStudio runtime deployment.

DEVELOPMENT HISTORY

FROM CONTROL SOFTWARE TO HARDWARE PLATFORM.

01
PHASE 01 // FOUNDATION

DESKTOP CONTROL PLATFORM

Development of the AquaStudio desktop control environment and programmable lighting system.

02
PHASE 02 // HARDWARE

QUINLED / ESP32-C3 INTEGRATION

Integration and testing of the QuinLED Penta Mini and its ESP32-C3 embedded controller platform.

03
PHASE 03 // HARDWARE ANALYSIS

AUTOMATIC HARDWARE ANALYSIS

Development of the hardware analyzer for controller identification, flash analysis and hardware profiles.

04
PHASE 04 // DEPLOYMENT

AUTOMATED FIRMWARE DEPLOYMENT

The installer combines hardware detection, firmware selection, flashing and AquaStudio runtime deployment into one workflow.

05
PHASE 05 // PLATFORM

MULTI-CONTROLLER ARCHITECTURE

Controller profiles separate hardware-specific information from the general AquaStudio runtime and provide the foundation for additional controller platforms.

NEXT DEVELOPMENT TARGETS

FINISH. PACKAGE. EXPAND.

NEXT

LINUX BETA

Finish the remaining Linux work and establish a reliable beta build that represents the current AquaStudio platform.

NEXT

APPIMAGE DISTRIBUTION

Package the Linux application as an AppImage so the beta can be distributed and tested without requiring a complete development environment.

NEXT

ADDITIONAL CONTROLLERS

Test additional controller hardware and extend the controller profile architecture where appropriate.

NEXT

HARDWARE REFERENCE DATA

Build a separate reference data layer from manufacturer documentation so analyzer results can be compared against known controller and MCU characteristics.

FUTURE

WINDOWS

Windows deployment will be developed after the Linux version has reached a stable and usable beta state.

The hardware installer and deployment pipeline will then be adapted for the Windows environment.

FUTURE

MACOS

macOS remains a planned longer-term portability target.

LONG-TERM VISION

ONE PLATFORM.
MULTIPLE CONTROLLERS.

The long-term goal is to make AquaStudio a hardware-aware control platform rather than a controller-specific application.

Hardware analysis, controller profiles, firmware deployment and the embedded runtime provide the foundation for supporting additional controller platforms.

The development focus is on controllers that are actually relevant to aquarium lighting, while keeping the architecture open enough to test and support additional hardware.

DEVELOPMENT PRINCIPLE

BUILD IT.
TEST IT.
IMPROVE IT.

AquaStudio's roadmap is deliberately hardware-driven. Real controllers are tested, measured and integrated step by step instead of assuming that every board behaves identically.

That approach is what allows the platform to grow from one working controller into a broader hardware-aware system.
